Playgrounds and Splash Pads in DFW
Arlington
River Legacy Park Playground, Arlington
Why we ♥️ it:
✨ The playground has different sections for different ages: the toddler section says it’s best for ages 2-5. By looking at the bigger section, I would say it’s probably for kids 6-12.
✨ We love the baby swings with the high backs
✨ They have a huge rope tunnel to crawl through that we LOVED
✨ The playground is surrounded by a huge, grassy field where families can run around and play soccer, have picnics, etc.
✨ They have picnic tables and a big pavilion you can rent
⚠️ The playground isn’t shaded, so bring your sunscreen and water! 💦 ☀️
Flower Mound
📍 Fort Wildflower (in Heritage Park), 600 Spinks Rd, Flower Mound
♥️ The playground is huge, shaded, and has turf!
♥️ Lots of places to climb, slide, and swing
♥️ The playground is in Heritage Park which has a huge pavilion, picnic tables, walking trails, a dog park, and bathrooms
♥️ There is a splash pad that is open from May 1-September 30 (we missed it by a week or two for the video!)
✨ Honestly, one of the most beautiful parks we’ve been to!
Fort Worth
🌳 Best Playgrounds in DFW
📍 Dream Park, 2001 University Dr, Fort Worth
♥️ There are multiple sections for kids of all ages and abilities
♥️ Lots of slides, tunnels, things to climb, a zipline, swings, and tons more!
♥️ Soft, rubber matting as flooring
♥️ The playground is surrounded by fields and trails
♥️ They usually have snack vendors, and ice cream or snow cone trucks parked out front for a yummy treat
Things to consider:
✨ The playground is shaded but not very well in my opinion-the equipment gets HOT when the weather hits 80
✨ No bathrooms but there are porta potties if you don’t mind that!
🌳 Best Playgrounds in DFW
📍 Tillery Park, 2200 Rockridge Terrace, Fort Worth
♥️ Lots of places to run around and explore! There are wood chips, but most of the playground is elevated on the wood planks, so Van never even touched the wood chips!
♥️ There is a toddler area for ages 2-5 in addition to the big equipment
♥️ Lots of trees and shaded areas!
✨ No bathrooms, so plan accordingly! 🚽
Haltom City
Across from the
Haltom Library
Playgrounds in DFW
📍 Across the street from the Haltom Library
✨ I am convinced that this is Haltom’s hidden gem. It is such a cute little playground, and no one is EVER there-even during spring break!
We ♥️ it because….
💕 There are different sections for different
ages: the smaller section says it’s best for ages 2-5. The bigger section says 5-12.
💕 It is SHADED!
💕 Never crowded! We’ve actually never seen another family here EVER
🚽 NO bathrooms, so plan accordingly!
Keller
Playgrounds in DFW
📍 Johnson Road Park, 640 Johnson Rd, Keller
💕 There are two sections. The ages 2-5 section is completely fenced in so that the little ones can’t escape!
💕 There are bathrooms and working water fountains
💕 There are two pavilions with picnic tables and trash cans
💕 There are wood chips but also foam padded flooring
Not a ton of shade, so wear sunscreen! ☀️
North Richland Hills
📍 Adventure World Playground, 7451 Starnes Rd, North Richland Hills
💕 Tons of room to run around and the playground is surrounded by so many trees-it's beautiful!
💕 Very shady! Most of the equipment (except for the swings) is covered
💕 Mixture of wood chips and rubber flooring (majority is wood chips though)
💕 Bathrooms!
💕 Quite a few picnic tables! Would be a cute spot for a picnic. There are water fountains and trash cans also.
